- she wants to be an example, a role model for girls and young women who are too strong to be mere housewives
- she wants to be respected in her field

She hated doing the housework (and the idea of being a housewife) so she remained being a working mother, during their childhoods, and relied the rest on hired help.
- her father, Nicholas Katrakis, was the only son of two doctors (his mother was a pediatrician and his father a trauma surgeon) who moved to Athens from Mykonos when he was 20, to study medicine, and met Ophelia five years later. He married her at 27 and continued his studies to become a general surgeon. He practically lived in the hospital during his internship, and even more so while he developed his specialty
- her parents (both Greek) met in Athens when she was 19 and he was 25, they got married two years later, she was carrying their first child. Their strict and solid work ethic meant they had little time to spend with the kids but they also counted with the financial means to delegate, to hire childcare, and a regular cook/maid
- her mother’s father, Mr. Constantine Dimopoulos (greek, middle-class), was the fourth of seven siblings. He became a popular and successful chef (27 years of age) who eventually opened his own restaurant (39), called "Achilles Heel".
